Frequently Asked Questions

Shipping

1. What is your shipping process?

We ship scooters by UPS Ground from our U.S. warehouse. Orders placed by 3:00 PM (business days) typically ship the next business day. All shipments default to signature required for security. You can request no signature at checkout (Order Notes), but if you waive signature, you accept responsibility for loss/theft after delivery.

2. How long will delivery take?

Typical transit times are ~3 business days to CA and ~5–7 business days to the Northeast. See our zone map for region-by-region estimates.

3. Do you offer shipping insurance?

Yes. At checkout you can add Route Shipping Insurance, which covers loss, theft, or damage in transit and includes a claims portal. This is optional and sits on top of our signature policy for extra peace of mind.

4. How do I cancel after the order ships?

Contact us immediately. You may refuse the package on delivery and we’ll issue a refund 3–6 business days after it returns to us, subject to our Return & Refund Policy.

Scooter Basics

1. Are electric scooters legal where I live?

Rules vary by city/state. Please check local regulations regarding speed limits, bike-lane use, lights, and age requirements.

2. How long does it take to learn to ride?

Most riders are comfortable after a short practice session. Start slow and always wear a helmet (plus knee/elbow/wrist protection).

3. Can I ride with a passenger?

No. One rider only. U.S. rules typically prohibit passengers on e-scooters and riding two-up is unsafe.

4. Can I ride in the rain?

Our scooters are water-resistant, but we do not recommend riding in rain or on wet surfaces. If you’re caught out, dry the scooter fully before use and store it in a dry place.

5. What are the test conditions behind your posted range/speed?

To make comparisons fair, we publish estimates using a standard test protocol: ~170-lb rider, Eco/medium mode, steady ~15 mph on smooth, flat pavement, mild temps, no headwind. Real-world results vary with rider weight, speed, terrain, tire pressure, temperature and wind.

Return and Exchange Policy

1. Can I return my scooter?

Yes—within 14 days of delivery if unused and in original packaging. Used scooters are generally not returnable. In rare cases we can accept a lightly used return with a 20% restocking fee after inspection.

2. Who pays return shipping?

Non-defective return (change of mind): customer pays return freight.
DOA/arrives not functioning: we cover the return label and send a replacement at our cost.

3. How do I start a return?

Email info@driderescooters.com for an RMA. Don’t ship anything back before receiving authorization.

Warranty & Repairs

1. What is your warranty?

We provide a 1-year brand warranty on the scooter (components & labor) and a 6-month battery warranty from the date of delivery. Wear-and-tear parts (tires, tubes, brake pads, grips, bearings) are excluded. Damage from misuse, water ingress beyond stated IP, or unauthorized modifications voids coverage. (This updates and replaces the older “180-day” text on some pages.)

2. How do I file a warranty claim?

Email info@driderescooters.com with a description plus photos/video. We’ll diagnose and usually ship spare parts free under warranty and provide install guidance or refer you to an authorized service partner. If the scooter must come to our service center, the customer covers inbound shipping; we cover parts & labor during the warranty.

3. Do you stock parts and batteries?

Yes. We stock common parts and batteries for all scooters we sell; if you can’t find a part, contact support and we’ll source it.

4. What happens after the warranty ends?

We continue to support you. Email us with photos/video; most repairs are available for a small service charge and quick turnaround because we keep parts on hand.

5. How should I care for the battery?

Keep tires properly inflated; avoid hard acceleration at low state of charge.
For storage: ~50–70% charge, cool/dry location, top up every 30–45 days.
Expect gradual capacity loss over time (typical 400–700 cycles, usage-dependent).

Model Specs

1. What’s the rider weight limit?

Most models support 265–330 lb depending on model. Check your scooter’s product page.

2. What hills can it climb?

Typical commuter models handle 10–20% grades; performance models go higher. See the model page for the tested grade.

3. What tires does it use?

Each listing shows size and type (pneumatic, tubeless, or solid) and whether front/rear differ. We also link exact tubes/tires in Parts.

4. What braking system is included?

Models vary (mechanical/hydraulic disc, drum, regenerative). Your product page lists the system and the replacement pads/shoes part link.

5. Charger & charge time?

Each scooter page lists voltage/amps and typical charge time; some models support a fast charger (sold separately).

6. Folded size & carry weight?

See the listing for folded L×W×H and weight to confirm trunk/closet fit.

7. Water resistance / IP ratings

If a model has a published IP rating we show it on the product page. Example: Mercane Wide Wheel Pro is IP54 (resists splashes/light rain). Avoid heavy rain, submersion, or pressure washing.

Payments & Orders

1. Which payment methods and financing do you support?

We accept major credit/debit cards and offer popular pay-over-time options where available (see checkout for current providers).

2. How do I track my order?

You’ll receive a tracking email when your order ships. Tracking sometimes takes up to 48 hours to update after label creation.

Pre-Order Details

1. Why pre-order?

Pre-orders secure incoming inventory and avoid long manufacturer waits. If your address changes, email us with the old/new address and the last four digits of your card so we can update shipping. Pre-orders can be canceled free of charge before shipment.
